Roman army training

In Y4, we spent a fun afternoon training to be Roman soldiers!

We practised our 'spear' throwing!

We used our 'shields' to defend ourselves. We arranged our bodies into the 'turtle formation'.

Our teacher tried to find weak points to attack us - she was unsuccessful!

This is the 'orb' formation. We are using our 'spears' to attack our enemies!

Science

April - In Maths, we have been learning to divide 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number. The children have confidently represented divisions on number lines, recognising that dividing a number which is a multiple of the divisor will NOT give us a remainder!

April - In science, we have been learning about electric circuits. We had great fun making circuits to light a bulb!

March - How exciting - a special delivery arrived for us at school this week - sand from the secret tomb! As archaeologists, we used special tools to unearth the hidden artefacts. Take a look at what we found!

This week, we have received another letter from the Egyptian museum! We have found out that the tomb belonged to a young boy, Neben-kharru, who was the son of the great Rameses II.

We have been learning about the process of mumification - we even acted it out! Can you see us hooking the brains out through the nose? How disgusting!

This week, we received a letter from an Egyptian museum asking for our help to unlock a secret tomb - of course we agreed to help! Here we are being archaeologists, photographers, hieroglyphic translators and even merchandise exporters!

Music

Design and Technology

Music - We have been learning to read rhythmic notation. We went outside to the playground so that we could make a lot of noise!

In DT, we have been looking at features of earthquake-proof buildings. We built our own, and then tested them in an 'earthquake', (wobbly jelly!)

Volcanoes

Anti-Bullying Week

Look at our Volcanoes - Please ask us how we made them!

We designed odd socks with an anti-bullying message to mark Anti-Bullying Week in school.
